Dr. Theodore Roosevelt Malloch, scholar-diplomat-strategist, is an international expert on governance, economics, and business. A former Professor and Senior Fellow in Management Practice at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School and Henley Business School, Dr. Malloch previously served as a Research Professor at Yale University. As President of the CNN World Economic Congress in 1992, he was given the moniker, “Global Sherpa” by Lady Margaret Thatcher.
Malloch is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Roosevelt Global Governance Group, a leading strategic management and thought leadership company. Ted has served on the executive board of the World Economic Forum (DAVOS); has held an ambassadorial level position at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland; worked in senior policy positions at the US State Department and US Senate and was in capital markets at Salomon Brothers on Wall Street. He was the head of all consulting at Wharton Econometrics and vice president over programs at the Aspen Institute. For a decade he founded and ran the PwC CEO Learning Partnership bringing together chief executives across 23 different industry groups, worldwide. He has experience and has served on over forty corporate, mutual fund, and not-for-profit boards, including universities, charitable trusts, and foundations.
Dr. Malloch earned his Ph.D. in international political economy from the University of Toronto, a B.A. from Gordon College, and an M.Litt. at the University of Aberdeen, on a St. Andrew’s Fellowship. He was a visiting professor at Tubingen University and a DAAD fellow at Kiel University, in Germany. Malloch has been awarded five honorary doctorates. He has written extensively on the nature of virtuous enterprise, the practices of practical wisdom, the pursuit of happiness, and the virtues of generosity and thrift.
The author of 18 books and hundreds of articles, his latest book, coauthored with the retired Chairman and CEO of Cargill, is Common Sense Business. His award-winning PBS documentary, "Doing Virtuous Business" was watched by 15 million by “viewers like you”. His memoir, Davos Aspen & Yale: My Life Behind the Elite Curtain as a Global Sherpa is a best seller.
